Audi A8 L 4.0 Sport

2016 Audi A8 4.0 Turbo Sport

That’s a big title for a big car (but one of my favorite big cars). Audi announced this week their twin turbo sport model of the top of the line A8 with an improved 450 bhp and a bump of other good stuff listed below, for the “bargain” price of just $90k. Ever since Ronin I’ve been a huge fan of the Audi big car, and I think one day when I get rich I might own an S8 as my family car/daily driver (unless the nice Audi people send over the RS6 wagon to this side of the pond). Anyway, enough of the chatter – here’s the full details.

Featuring more power and enhanced luxury inside and out, the Audi A8 L 4.0T Sport model enters the Audi lineup for 2016. The variant of the Audi A8 flagship sedan boasts an enhanced 4.0T twin turbo V8 engine achieving an impressive 450 hp, an increase of 15 hp from the previous 4.0T model. The Sport model also includes a muscular front fascia with larger air intakes for a more commanding presence on the road.

2017 Acura NSX

375843_2017 Acura NSX - 06

Warning, this post will be ridiculously long. Thanks to those nice and very detailed folks at the Acura performance division, there is a lot of very cool information released, and given everyone has been waiting 20 years for this next version (and by everyone, I obviously mean me) it would be a shame to not give you the full gory details. Oh, and there’s a bunch of pics to go along with the words. So, without further ado….

2017 ACURA NSX: Introduction

History
When the original Acura NSX made its debut 25 years ago, it forever changed the supercar universe by combining scintillating sports car styling and athletic performance—common traits long associated with the exotic car segment—with a new dimension of quality, exceptional ergonomics, comfort, and dynamic poise. The NSX introduced and defined Acura’s approach to “Precision Crafted Performance” with its cutting-edge design and innovative technology that provided accessible supercar performance for real drivers in the real world.

By making use of advanced new technologies such as a lightweight yet rigid all-aluminum monocoque body/chassis and a mid-mounted transverse V6, the original NSX challenged the conventional wisdom for a supercar. Its high-revving V6 engine featured a number of innovative production car technologies including forged pistons, titanium connecting rods and VTEC valve train.

Moreover, the NSX sought a more intimate connection between the car, the driver and the road underneath them, pursued through essential design elements – light weight, open and airy cockpit, and excellent ergonomics – creating an altogether new and paradigm-challenging definition of supercar performance.

Next Generation Concept
The overarching concept for the design and development of this next-generation NSX was the idea of a “human-centered supercar,” one that places the driver at the center of its mission in each and every element of its design and dynamic performance.

Respecting the foundational concepts of the original NSX—accessible supercar performance, everyday drivability, and openness to new technology—this next-generation NSX pursues an altogether new and revolutionary concept of Acura supercar performance – melding timeless NSX values with advanced technologies to create a New Sports eXperience.

Nissan GT-R Nismo N-Attack Pack

Nissan GT-R Nismo N-Attack White

If your Nissan GT-R wasn’t quite fast enough for you, Nissan gave you the Nismo, a not very cheap extension of performance direct from the internal skunkworks team. And then of course, that begged the question (or maybe not), what should I do if I want even more speed? Well, Nissan kindly provided the answer for that – the N-Attack Pack, a bundle of dedicated option parts designed to make you go even faster.

Nissan GT-R Nismo N-Attack White Rear

The NISMO N Attack Package was developed to achieve optimal speed and includes components such as aerodynamics necessary for superior down-force, suspension that can handle such a punishing road surface full of undulations and turbulent fluctuations, and full bucket seats essential to maintain the optimal driving position even under powerful g-force.

In Japan, these parts are combined and assembled at the NISMO Omori Factory, whose mechanics participated in the time attack project, while, in the U.S., Steve Millen Sportsparts Inc. (STILLEN) was chosen to conduct sales as the official installer and certified sales agency.

The “NISMO N Attack Package” consists of the dedicated parts that were especially developed through the time attack project at Nürburgring in Germany, where the Nissan GT-R NISMO recorded a time of 7 minutes 8.679 seconds, the fastest recorded time for a volume production vehicle.
